zombie plot

just putting it up here before I forget:
mc: sea faring type person, didn’t turn into a zombie because she + crew were out at sea at the time of ‘the event’. (write what you know. Might as well use my experience in that area)
the event: no one knows what the hell happened. people think virus, aliens, [...]
