Blast from the past

Published by Brenda at 9:29 pm under Journal

I’m currently watching Best of the best , an Eric Roberts movie from that precious era when he still wanted to:

- be the good guy

- be taken seriously

Needless to say, I’m having loads of fun. Not just because of mr. Roberts though, but mostly because of Tommy ‘I didn’t want to fight’ Lee.

Played by this guy:

Philip Rhee. Tommy is your typical tormented hero. He befriends Eric Roberts (dude, that’s hard :p), sort of romances the local zen mistress (Sally Kirkland O.o), brings the entire team together… And of course he also defeats the guy who killed his brother. Not by killing him, but by getting his ass kicked. And people wonder where Robert Jordan got his plot ;)

Anyway, all of this made Tommy Lee the perfect guy for 13 year old me. *Swoon*

I clearly got over said teen-hood crush, but that doesn’t mean that this movie doesn’t amuse me to bits :D

Hehe, I watched like 15 minutes of the movie when I zapped past it and then had to stop because of the really bad hair metal music playing in the background while tormented Tommy is driving along a lonesome highway on his motorcycle with his terrible 80’s sunglasses on…

God this is movie is sooo bad… :p

But hey, if you have Darth Vader as your coach, you kind of have to win, right???

Seriously, three? I was only aware of two :D

And I can’t hate a movie that has a Golden Earring soundtrack ;)
